Sunday Afternoon

Tonight we went to Jim and Carrie's house for a going away dinner for Marissa. (She is moving to California for the summer.) After dinner Jimmy entertained us. He sang some Tarzan song. Apparently the mic was coming out of his ear though. Before he was playing doctor and I was trying to explain to him that after doctors treat patients that they go golfing.
Tomorrow is a work day. I am not sure what I will be working on yet but I know I will be working. I need a week off. Just to stay home and do nothing. I am taking a day off in 2 weeks though to spend with Jimmy. That should help.
Not much else to really write about. Yesterday I did get 3 pairs of new shoes. I am not allowed to buy clothes until I lose some weight so shoes it was! I will take pictures tomorrow and post them. Otherwise this weekend was totally uneventful which is good since next weekend shall be totally full.
Monday night we have a work dinner for Rick. Thursday is Stephen's birthday so we are trying to get to dinner with him. Friday we might be going to dinner with Jim, Laurie, Marshall and who knows who else. Maddy and Drew get into town Thursday night. Saturday we will spend the day in Logan at Jimmy's graduation including making a stop at the Smithfield cemetery.
Such is the life of a rock star.

Extended Family

This is a picture of my dad's cousin and his kids, my second cousins. I about died when I saw this photo as Nick could be the identical twin of Adam who I went to visit in Leeds England back in 2000! They have the same hair cut and even the same clothes. I don't remember Adam wearing glasses though. I am going to have to try and find a photo of him to post on here so everyone can compare.
My great-aunt has been sending me photos of family. I am having so much fun seeing the family resemblance between people and what genetic traits carry from where. I shall blog more later.

My Geekiness

I guess I am not that much of a geek. I tried to post my geekiness thing at the bottom of the page put only the html posted. Yes I am only 62% geek. I will tell you a little story though...
I was sitting in a meeting today just after 5:00 pm. We were discussing the re-branding of our company and the possibility of even changing our company name. We had been discussing our sphere of influence and other things such as our "collective" (the term that was not used by me) and other ways in which we gather information and then it needs to be put in a way that everyone can know it, in real time. Also that we need to be able to adapt and assimilate information. As I sat that I though...Dude, We are Borg. So after a few moments I decided to my make my play...the guy leading the discussion said. "We are blank" I look at him and said BORG! I got a few good laughs. One guy didn't even know who they were. I thought, what planet does he come from. Then I remember, oh yes, he is Canadian. One guy pointed out the Borg were on TNG I added that they were also on Voyager. He said, they were? I said, YEAH! 7 of 9 Hello! I literally said that too. I don't think anyone in the office had ever seen me so animated. It was really entertaining. Little do they know what a geek I am.
I think I would have scored higher on the geek thing had I known anything about programming. I am not so good there.
Well it is way past my bed time, even though I am totally awake. If I don't go now who knows when I will get to sleep and then I will be too tired tomorrow to figure out what to order for lunch. I am thinking Panda for the group. Guess we shall see.

Missing

One more thing...this morning it dawned on me that both my sisters will be gone for at least 2 months this summer. I realize that I am the oldest and that should mean that I should be fine being alone because I didn't have siblings with me all my life but the reality is that I have. I have always had them to talk with. Granted, Jimmy is still around and there is a new baby on the way and all of Rick's family but I don't interact with them as I do my sisters. I love my sisters very much and it will be a lonely summer without either around. I supposed I shall have to drown my sorrows and make sure I am at the pool every single day! I am sure Rick will help but he doesn't like the silly kitty jokes are funny like my sisters do. I love them!

Banished!

Rick is off detailing the Subaru right now. He told me that he was embarrassed to drive my car any more. I am happy to have him clean it. He does such a wonderful job. I on the other hand should be cleaning the house while he is gone but the sirens song of the computer called.
I was banished last night. Yes I spent the night in the Jeff Gordon bedroom on the futon. I was snoring uncontrollably last night. It didn't matter if I was on my side or my stomach...I snored. Once I came into this room, I woke myself up a few times. I knew that Rick was exhausted. He woke me up several times in 2 hours trying to get me to stop snoring. He was even calling me Michele not Shel. I knew that he would never sleep so I came in here to help him out. I still woke myself up a few times!
It is time for me to go put dishes away and vacuum. If you know of any good ways to stop snoring let me know. I have tried the breath right strips and all sorts of different sprays and they don't seem to work.

My First Real Blog

I figure that since I am on the computer all the time and enjoy looking at other people's blogs and websites I might as well start my own. It isn't as if I need something else to suck up my time but hey...what is the internet for? (Besides porn?)
Alright so here we go...heck I don't even know what to write.
It is Friday night just after 10:00 pm. Rick has been in bed since 8:30. I am very proud of him for staying up so late tonight. Tomorrow we are going to Logan for Isaac's birthday party. We are going to go to Smithfield first to get photos of headstones. That's right, headstones. Last Saturday we spent 4 hours in the Salt Lake Cemetery looking for dead people. It was so much fun! Marissa went out today and took some photos for me too.
Here is something cool, I was a made a managing director at work. I even got a bonus today. :)
Now I am going to figure out how to add photos to this. It can't be that hard! Hey I just added grandma and grandpa's headstone. It was engraved incorrectly. Now for it to be labeled above the correct person, it has to fast east rather than west. It really irritated me!
