Just a Thought

This really doesn't apply to those who regularly read my blog but I want to vent somewhere, in a sorta public fashion...
So (yes I use that word all the time) apparently Rick and I are not worth family letting us know when they are in town. Or being included in family gatherings. (There are a few who include us but not many). Also where there are family emergencies/tragedies happening, again we are the last to know.
Seriously, do I smell or something?

Alex and Audrey's Wedding

I know I blogged about my cousin's wedding but I wanted to do something with all the photos I had so I made this video:

Paintball with the YSA

Rick and I are the "adult" reps for our ward YSA. Last month we went Go-Kart Racing and this month we played Paintball. The morning was perfect! It was a fun time with an incredible view.

The Littles at the Park

A few weeks ago my sister in law brought her littles out to my house. We went to the lake first but it was too windy so we turned around and went to the park. We climbed and slide down the slide for an hour. I was about dead by the time we were done. Those little ones wore me out!

Pelicans

I LOVE pelicans. Ok maybe not love them but am fascinated by them. I did my 1st grade report on them. I still remember this, nearly 30 yeras ago. I really don't like birds in general. I think of them as flying disease carriers. Pelicans though, don't fit in that category. Have you ever been near one? They are HUGE! My photos do not do them justice. I so wish I could get a better photo but until then, this will have to do. We have pelicans in the late all the time and this was the first time I was able to get a decent photo of them.

Storm A Brewin'

I love the line "Hurricane a brewin'!" I think of it every time there is a storm.

This is one of the MANY storms we have had this summer.
And of course at the end, there was a lovely rainbow.

Random Thoughts

I was doing a bit of figuring out all the things my Google account can do, including showing me a quick way to check on my blog stalking when I came across this list. I think that it is great. I have add my own comments in red.

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die. (There is more to it than just deleting. I suggest crashing the entire hard drive and even then you aren't 100% safe)

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong. (But you always keep fighting!)

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font. (Most everything I type is in this font so just assume it is sarcastic)

5. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet? (I learned how to do this on Martha Stewart. I am pretty dang good at it too now. this however is not sarcasm but truth.)

6. Was learning cursive really necessary? (Nope)

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died. (AMEN)

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired. (fortunately this isn't really how I feel)

10. Bad decisions make good stories. (Hahaha they sure do)

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day (Apparently it struck already today)

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again. (Agreed)

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page research paper to which I swear I did not make any changes. (ALWAYS save, just in case)

14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this—ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Dang it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste. (Then again I do NOT leave my house without makeup. The day i do, I will see someone who I never wanted to see me without makeup. There is a previous blog about this but it was during my non-tagging time so I am not going to find it.)

17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call. (They are labeled with DO NOT ANSWER)

18. My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day "Dad what
would happen if you ran over a ninja?" How the heck do I respond to that?

19. I think the freezer deserves a light as well. (Mine however DOES have a light even if it isn't and LED light)

20. I told gave my daughter the job of mating socks the other day. She looked at me with worry in her eyes and said, “But mom, what will we do if we end up with a whole bunch of baby socks?”

A Cousin's Wedding

Memorial Day weekend Saturday, we spent in at my cousin Alex's wedding. My aunt and cousins from another state made the trek to town for her son's wedding. It was great to see them. My brother and Rick has lost a lot of weight and need new suits. Their pants look like they are wearing their dad's suits. The little ones loved playing in the water. My beautiful cousin Aimee is always fun to chat with.It was a long day but of course we had some fun.

Mr. and Mrs. Flypaper

Everyday is a party when we are involved!

The Backside

We decided to go the back way to our destination on Saturday. Sure we have all seen the front side of these mountains, but how many have see what is on the other side?I can tell you this, the grass might not be greener but there sure aren't as many people.

Memorial Day

Our Memorial Day Weekend was full of family. Lots and Lots of family - well at least on Saturday. Come Monday, we needed some time to hang out at home and that is just what we did.
That morning we played tennis for the first time this season and the first time in our new neighborhood. We hit pay dirt when it comes to tennis courts. The local high school is just finishing up their first first year of school. They have AWESOME tennis courts only minutes from our home. They even have bleachers for our adoring fans. This will be our home away from home Saturday mornings for the rest of the summer.
Later that morning we planted our garden. Nothing big but we have a pumpkin, 2 tomatoes and lots of peas. I didn't want to plan too much since we still need to put in the sprinkler system this summer. The rest of the day was spent hanging out watching tv and BBQing. It was our first dinner on our patio. We may not have made it to the cemetery but as most of you know, I frequent the cemetery on more than an annual basis.
