So I have this Subaru. I like my subaru. It has been a good car. It has taken us to California several times and kept me from being stuck in the snow more than once.
So I have this Subaru. I hate my subaru. Ok maybe I don't hate it. I sure don't like the parts that break though.
On 08/14/07 I had the alternator replaced. Today is 08/12/08. The subaru is now at the fix it place, having the alternator fixed....AGAIN. I am SOOOOOO happy it was today and not this Friday, which will be 08/15/08 and there would be no warantee on it.
Last night I was driving home from Harmon's when the radio stopped working. I thought, dang. No more radio. The guages then went a little crazy jumping around. I stopped to get the mail and thought...maybe I shouldn't do this. Then I thought, no it is too hot for me to walk back out here I will just turn off the car and grab it.
That's when I couldn't start the car again. I called my visiting teacher to come and give me a jump since I was parked in the red zone and Rick was going to be at work for a few more hours. She came right over and of course the car started right up. I was able to back into my spot. This morning Rick came home from work to jump the car. As soon as it was shifted into gear, it died. We tried this a few times. Rick was finally able to get it to move. We made it about a mile then it died and we started all over again. This time we almost made it to the light. There is a huge intersection just before the fix it place. 12300 south and the frontage road for those of you familiar with Draper...right were Flying J, Panda and all that stuff is. Rick pulled the car into the parking lot at Fazoli's to charge it up hopefully enough to get it through the light. We waited for about 7 min then pulled the cables off. While Rick was putting them away, the car died. It was having none of this. We decided to take the other car over and say...Help!. The guy was cool and said he would get it from there. (I guess they took a battery charger over and attached it and drove back with the hood partially open. It was crazy.) Something that should have taken about 15-20 min ended up taking more than an hour. That is why I don't like cars. I really do like cars, but I wish I could just get a new one every 2 years and have a lease so it was always under warantee. That would be nice.
Next time your car makes odd sounds, like high pitched screetching, or flashes it's lights at you...get it checked out. You never know when it is going to say, enough is enough.
