A Picnic in the Park

Rick had to work both the Sunday before Memorial Day and Memorial Day. Because of this, he was able to have some days off. One he took this week. We were able to spend my last weekday of not working together. It was a great day. We were able to get some errands done together, get some work done on his car and we had a picnic in the park.
We went to Draper Historic Park. It is a really cute park on 900 east and about 12550 south in Draper. I figured that as long as we live here we need to enjoy what the "city" has to offer. We were able to use the jean quilt I made for the first time. And check this out, it was Rick's idea to have the picnic! He wanted to break in the blanket. I told him that there would be no making out in the park, well not if we went while it was still light. Oh wait, I have that backwards, Rick told ME there would be no making out in public. Sometimes I forget who gets the horny cachornies. (pronounced Ka-ch-or-nees ~ I am in my early 30's afterall. Rick is so going to kick my hiney if he ever sees this.)

After eating our lunch made by Quiznos, we went for a little walk around the park. I unfortunately left my camera plugged into the computer the night before and had run down the battery so I was only able to take a few quick photos before the battery totally died. Nevertheless, you can see why I find this park so cute. Rick and I both have ancestors who lived in Draper during it's early days as pioneers. It was fun to be able to think about them possibly walking around in the same park as we were.
Apparently they have concerts in the park every Monday evening so if anyone ever wants to go with me, let me know and we shall see what we can do.

Well, I do have to applaud you for your self restraint from not attacking each other at the park in broad daylight. That must have been really tough to do. However, with such nice scenery.....

Ya know, the dude stayed in his chair the whole time and didn't even join me on the blanket ~ sheesh!
