TV

I was just scrolling through my recent blogs and noticed that quite a few are about TV and TV related items. Yep, I am indulgent with my TV time and it must be getting colder and darker outside because I am watching more and more.

Thankful #7

I was too busy enjoying my #7 to blog about it yesterday. For my day #7 I am thankful for my DVR and On Demand. I think it was one of the greatest tv inventions either, after cable of course. Ok they are really two separate things but they work basically the same way. Without the DVR I wouldn't be able to record my shows and watch them with Mr Flypaper on the weekend. We wouldn't be able to watch all of our sports either. I think only 2-3 times have we watched a NASCAR race in it's entirety this season thanks to the DVR. Then there is On Demand, I have watched an entire Showtime series On Demand recently. It is great to know most of the shows I watch are on there too.
Thank you DVR and On Demand Gods for making my life so fun and easy.

Thanksgiving #5

Today I decided to wait a little bit later in the day to see if anything happened throughout the for which I should be grateful. Well as I have been sitting on my behind at my computer playing my games 2 great movies have been on TV - So tonight I am Thankful for Cable TV. It enriches my life. I am able to watch movies such as Talladega Nights and Night at the Roxbury, or things like How It's Made. I am turn my brain off and just be entertained for hours on end or I can actually learn something. It also keeps me from being lonely at night and I know it helps Rick during the day. Tomorrow we will be able to watch Soccer (GO ReAL!) and Football (GO Utes), while still getting things done at home. Yep, I sure am grateful for TV and we will save the DVR for another thankful blog. (It deserves it's own.)

Yes I am noticing that I indulge in things many people try limit in their lives - It's good to be me!

Too much tv?

We had a discussion today...We - Rick and I - think we might be watching too much tv in our home. Why do we think that you might ask. Well...Sunday or Monday night of this week, I can't remember which now, I had a dream that my car died and I had to switch to the back up battery and flip the ignition a few times. Yes I said ignition switch. How does this relate to tv - On Sunday during the race, Jeff Gordon's car had power problems. He switched to his back up battery and had to flip the ignition switch to get it going. (They have ignition switches in race cars.) The problem is that Rick had a similar dream the same night!
THEN - Tuesday or Wednesday night I had a dream that I was in Hawaii Five-O (One of my new favorite shows). It was a great episode. At the end of the dream I said to myself, that was a good episode I need to write it down. I totally knew it was a dream too.
So what are we going to do about...turn off the tv more? HECK NO! Why wreck a great thing. In fact, I just had comcast out here making sure that all of my cable outlets work. Heaven forbid I want to move my upstairs tv into a different room and the cable not work.

Don't Worry

For those of you who may have missed my daily blog...don't worry...I am still here. I have just been too lazy to get on my cpu at home over the weekend. Actually I was on the couch with the laptop and since Rick doesn't like it when I have diarrhea of the mouth, or fingers, I decided to not blog with him sitting next to me.
We caught some great tv sports viewing over the weekend. Kyle Busch's engine blew up during th NASCAR race. That always makes me happy. My fantasy football team is kicking butt. (I still have a player playing tonight but I am up 268 to 178 so there is no way I am going to lose. Thank you Eagles Defense for the 57 points! And yes it is MY fantasy football team, not Rick's.) We watched a very emotional tribute at Yankee Stadium. I am not a Yankee fan but I sure did shed some tears. College football wasn't too bad on Saturday.
Today I was able to pick up an awesome computer stand for me to use while on the couch. Don't worry I will be posting more tonight, maybe even a video of me playing Rock Band!

Road to Avonlea

My all time favorite TV show is Road to Avonlea I used to watch it on the Disney channel everyday. I didn't start watching it until I was probably 16 or 17 but I just loved it. A few years ago some episodes came out on dvd. I don't remember if I bought it for myself or one of my sisters bought it for me...it probably was Maddy. Anyway, I have watched it over and over and over! Many times more than I have watched Anne of Green Gables.
I learned about 3 years ago I could buy a full season for $100. There was no way I was paying that much. About 3 months ago I found it at Costco for $60 a series. I still was a good girl and did not buy it. I really try to not come home from Costco with all sorts of things, like clothes and the cool stuff that they have there.
For some reason this week I decided to see what was to be found on Ebay. There are several seasons on there for $35! I found season five for $11. I decided to bid on it. I don't think I have ever actually bid on something. Usually I do the buy it now and call it good. Well tonight I won my bid on ebay. (I think I won some Dresden on there about 4 years ago.) And it was for less than $20. I am SOOOOO excited to have another season to watch. I do plan to accumulate all of the seasons, 7 in all but it is going to have to be all sneaky sneaky like. Rick doesn't watch these with me so he doesn't endorse my purchases of them on a regular basis. Maybe I can get another season or two for Christmas....
