Christmas 1986
My first official real hair cut was when I was 10, 1986. ( I cut my own bangs at some point when I was little but that is it.) It was the day before I started 4th grade. We were living on E street. My mom was pregnant with Marissa and she wasn't home at the time. Kelly who had been our nanny was with us and I talked her into cutting my hair. We took a stool outside and she cut my hair all off. Mind you, I didn't have that much. My hair was still very thin at this time and probably only a few inches past my shoulders. It just didn't grow back then. The hair cut was...not what I had wanted. Unbeknown st to any of us, I had curly hair and thick hair. Well it was thick once it was cut. I had SO wanted a short straight bob just like some girl who was in 6th grade but no. I wasn't to have that hair style. I didn't know how to straighten it or anything so I had fly away hair for awhile. I kept my hair short through 4th and some of 5th grade. Well at least my 5th grade pictures still have me with shorter hair. By the end of the year though I know it was getting longer.

I didn't get my hair cut again until I was 14, 1990 Right after I graduated from 9th grade I was able to talk my mom into letting me get my hair cut. It was to be my graduation gift. Again, it was long but probably only midway down my back. My mom insisted that if I was going to have my hair cut, we went to a professional. She took me to a place in Sugarhouse called Robert Steur and Friends. She made an appt with Robert Steur and I think it took like a month for me to get in. Off went the hair and along with it $95! That's right $95 freaking dollars for a dang hair cut. I never went back there.
I had short hair through high school. Well shoulder length at least, which is short to me now. By the time I was a senior I think I started growing it out again.

Summer 1997
The next hair cut was in February or March of 1997. At this time I had some decently long hair. I don't remember what prompted me to cut my hair this time. I went to a girl who I had met through a friend. I don't even remember her name now but she was awesome! She was located at Capelli Hair on Highland Drive. When I went in she was shocked to hear that I was in the water 3 days a week. I just had super healthy hair. Several of the other girls had to check it out too. She decided that she wouldn't cut it as short as I wanted. She was afraid I would think it was too short.

Fall 1997
She cut it just barely above my shoulders and told me to come back in a week if I didn't like it. I was back in a week. Again like the previous times it was a bob. I now knew how to take care of it though.
I again grew my hair out for a bit, until late summer 2001. The last hair cut story...well I am a bit ashamed to tell it. To make the long story not so embarrassing I will sum it up...I met a guy and he talked me into cutting my hair. Now don't get me wrong, I was happy to do it. But I don't think I would have even thought about it had it not been for this dude. And that is what he was, I cut it and he bailed. It was a horrible hair cut. I had to get it all fixed by someone else and in the end, I looked dang cute. I kept it short again for awhile, including for Maddy's wedding in 2002. I don't exactly know when my last major chop was. I think I did keep it fairly short for a few years.
May 2002As most of you know, I have wait length hair now. It is a lot of hair too. As Wayne knows, I will cut it again someday. Just not in any rush to do it though.
