The Flap

Believe it or not, I have a fairly well working filter flap. If I blogged/posted everything that goes through my mind....

Magic

Last week I started telling people at work that I am pregnant. Most seemed to be over joyed for me. One actually laughed. Let's just not talk about that one.
The next reaction from so many was "Oh so you are over the worst." I get that mostly from men BUT I do get it from 80% of the people I tell. Let me tell you my blog readers - NO I am NOT over the worst! I am just as bad as I was 3 weeks ago. In fact week 11-12 was THE worst week yet. I don't know why people think that 12 weeks is a magical number that means suddenly I feel fantastic. Those hormones are still running rampant. I am still throwing up. I am still tired. My tolerance for people is still very low.

Let me tell you a few other things I have learned from my doctor's visits

  • Most woman actually have "morning sickness" until between weeks 14 and 16. Some it continues through ALL of pregnancy.
  • When it comes to pregnancy symptoms in general - all women have something. They might have all they might have one but there is always something. If you were to make a list of ones that I might have by now, I would check off pretty much every single one.
  • Every single woman's uterus is tilted. Some it is tilted forward, some back but it is EVERY one. Because of this there are different problems. I happened to have mine sit on my sciatic nerve for a week. Then it moved to my tail bone. Yep, I am that cool to have both problems.
  • 12 weeks is really not a magical date for miscarriages. It is actually hearing the baby's heartbeat. Most people don't hear it until their 12 week check up with the Doppler. I heard the heart beat at 5 weeks and 5 days which took my chance of miscarriage to 2% on that date - not 7 weeks later. (We have heard the heart beat now 5 times)
  • The placenta starts taking over the production of hormones during weeks 11-12. This can cause spotting and LOTS of cramping. (You can still freak out and call your doctor. They are really nice even after hours while you cry hysterically on the phone.)
So there you go. If I seem tired/grumpy/stressed still you know...I am not past the magic of the first trimester illness.

Seriously?

There are less than 200 days already? Holy cow it is going fast! And for those I haven't told yet...SURPRISE!

Day 30

A photo of you when you were happy.
Ole Ole Ole ReAL Salt Lake But seriously, have you ever seen me not happy?

Day 29

A photo of someone you find attractive. Yeah I am going to have to post 2 photos again cause one isn't enough.

Day 28

A photo of what I ate today... I had these chippies. I was hoping for some salt and vinegar or Maui onion but neither were available. These worked well though.

Day 27

A photo from last summer.... My new home!

Day 26

A photo of your favorite weekend...this was difficult - My first NASCAR race or my Honeymoon in Disneyland. I really can't choose.

Day 25

A photo of a night you loved...My cousin Rebecca's wedding...not cause of her wedding but because it was one of the last time ALL my local cousins and my siblings were together. It was SO much fun!

Day 24

A photo where my hair looks good...Ok how about one in the humidity of Cancun? I don't think my hair was completely dry the entire week.

Day 23

A photo of your friend as a baby and since my sisters are my friends...
We have Madeleine (who already looks pissed at the world)

and Marissa (who looks totally drunk)

Day 22

A photo of my town - Well I think between the parade and the cardboard boat race pretty much everyone in my town was there.

Day 21

A photo of me standing up.

Uh, ok

Day 20

A photo of you doing something you enjoy... That's right, sunbathing.

Day 19

A photo of me on a school trip. The only "school trip" I went on was to Italy in the 90's and all my photos were slides. Oh I do have some prints but they aren't scanned into the computer and I am too lazy to do that right now. Instead a photo of me on a trip while in school will have to suffice. This is me at Robin hood's Bay in England.
