Day 13

I really had every intention of staying up to date on these but I haven't even been on my own computer in almost 2 weeks and that is where my photos live. I made it tonight so I am going to try and get caught up quickly.

A photo of my best friend(s) Wayne & Rick
For those of you that don't know - Wayne is my internet buddy. We have been friends for something like 9 or 10 years now. We have been able to have our families travel to spots together twice now and hope to be able to do it again. He was my friend when I started dating Rick and know all of my secrets from dating.
Then of course there is Rick and we all know how in love with him I am. They make a great team tolerating my crazies!

Thanksgiving #19

I know I just mentioned friends but one friend I need to give an entire post to...Wayne-O. Wayne has been a friend of mine for 9 years now I think. Over this time he has been my friend getting me through the good and bad. We have been lucky enough for our families to get to know each other as well. We have traveled as families together and that's what we have become, a big family.
Wayne actually is who helped me get into genealogy. He asked me to help him out with some of his family tree and it turned into my obsession. I know his family tree as well as my own because of this. His family has allowed us to do the Temple work for their ancestors, another part of why we have such a wonderful friendship.
Yep, I am thankful for Wayne-O

Thankful #18

I am thankful for my friends and friends of friends. I have new friends now that we have moved. I have medium timed friends from the last few years of my life. And I have old friends, you know who you are. I am so grateful to have friends and the fun times we have chatting. Thank you!

What I won't miss

There are a few things I will miss when we move. Being close to my friends is #1. Being close to Harmon's is #2 (some days they are interchangeable) #3 Being close to In N Out for my strawberry shakes - ok maybe this is going to be a good thing to be so far from in the near future. (I really need to do a better job at tagging my blogs so I can find the ones I want to be able to link to them. I am sure there is one in here about how much I love Harmon's).

But there are some things I won't miss:
Parking outsidePeople smoking less than 20 feet from my door or windows
Seeing the dumpster from our front windows - Ok seeing the dumpster on fire though...that is something I will miss.Hearing people in the middle of the night because we like to sleep with our windows open
The neighbors alarm waking me up 30 min before I need to get up
Hearing the neighbor pee
And driving home in I-15 traffic

Facials

So it is evident that I suck at blogging lately. I just don't have the time. I haven't even been clearing the photos of my camera, something I really need to do because I am almost out of space.
One of the fun things I have been busy doing was going to a facial/skin care party with my friends. I almost didn't make it because I had to present a thing in Relief Society the same night. I am SOOOO glad I went. How often do you have your friends tell you that you look like toothpaste?

4th of July Fireworks

Our 4th of July was fun. We had planned to go golfing that morning but the clouds changed our mind. We decided to go to transformers instead. It was great! We came home, had some dinner and our friends called us to come over and watch fireworks. I cooked up some brownies and off we went. As always we have a good time with them and their children. They even put on a private firework show for us. It was a wonderful 4th of July!

Old Friends - An Update

I think it was last month I posted a blog about my friend Katrina. Last night we were able to get together. It was great!
I told Maddy sometime in the afternoon that she was coming over last night with her family for dinner and swimming. I admitted to Maddy that I was a bit nervous. Not reason why I should but other than that I hadn't see her since I was 13 years old. That's right, 19 years ago. (I am not old enough to have friends I haven't seen for 19 years!)
So Katrina came over and it was great. We talked and talked and talked. It was better than old times. She has 2 beautiful daughters. One who even looks just like her. They were quite the little fishes too.
I had my camera with us at the pool but I was so into the discussion that I didn't get any photos. That just means that I will have to get together again. She told me about her 9 siblings and how they are all doing in life. I told her what an impact their family had on me. Since there were so many of them, there was almost always someone to play with. Jimmy and I spent MANY hours at their house growing up.
They lived across the street and down the alley from us in the aves. I never again had friends live to close.
I am truly grateful to have Katrina as a friend and back in my life.

Fun Little Game - Thanks Alison

Leave a comment on our blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time, or a long time, anything you remember!

Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Friends or lack of

So I was just thinking...man there sure are a lot of people I know in this world but really there aren't that many that I am friends with. This especially applies to people I went to high school with. I get on facebook and see all these names and I recognize them but I think, was I really friends with this person? Usually the answer is no. I think I am depressing myself lately by doing this watching and such.
Maybe the problem is me though. I guess I don't know how to have a normal friendship with a girl or anyone other than Rick or my siblings. Maybe my problem is that I like them all so much there aren't that many people I would rather hang out with. Yeah that must be it. I am sure I am the problem and just not social enough. I will admit though, Rick working the hours he does so he goes to be so early sure doesn't make it easy to do things on week nights and there are only so many weekends.
While doing my surfing I found some really cool things on other people's blogs...like slideshows. I think I am going to figure out how to do that today.
Maddy~ I miss you!

Old Friends

Last night I received a phone call from my best friend growing up, Katrina. I have known Katrina pretty much my entire life. Seriously, we were in the samw ward when we were like 2 years old. I don't think anyone influenced me like her family did. They lived across the street and down the alley from us. I can't tell you how many hours were spent in that alley and in their back yard. Since talking with her I have had a flood of memories hitting me this morning. Most of them are good too....like trying to catch the alley cats in a sandbox trap. lol (Those darn cats kept getting out!)

Katrina also told me that when we moved away when I was 13 that "it broke her heart." I had NO idea. There were many people who I figured just tolerated me when I was growing up and probably still do. I thought she was one of them. This made me feel so sad and so good at the same time. I wonder if I would have done things differently had I known. Would I have done more to have stayed in touch with her once we moved? It was hard though not being old enough to drive and get around.

I feel like I have found my long lost friend now. Talking with her was SO easy. I felt like I could tell her anything and everything all right away. Like I had been talking with her the day before. Now I am going to have to go to my mom's this weekend and try and find some photos of us together. I can think of one off the top of my head but I probably don't have many.

On another note, I feel great this morning. My pants were even a bit loose and that makes me super happy. Tonight is a book group for Relief Society to which I think I might attend. The author is in our stake presidency and the book is about receiving personal revealation in the Temple. I haven't read the book but it is on old at the library for me. I think I will probably go because it will probably be interesting. I think I also wrote about this in a previous blog as well.

Work is going slow this week. It is about 10:30 and the first person just got here. I need to make a to do list again as things have changed on what I need to do. Probably #1 is finish transfering mini videos to regular size so I can get the video camera back to Scott. #2 is figure out how to use the timing feature on my camera. I can probably do that at work so maybe I will work on that this morning.
It should be warm this weekend and that means Pool time! Rick agreed to go with me last night. =)
Ok off to do other things
