Thanksgiving #30

There really are so many things I am thankful for each day but sometimes it is really hard to think of them. I decided for my last post in this series, because it is a series hehehe is to post how thankful I am for my family's health. Sure I have issues like not being able to lose weight but even though I am "obese" according to the charts I am pretty dang healthy. We rarely get colds or the flu in this house. As for my siblings and such, they are the same. Even the ones with kids, they don't get sick very often and we don't have any major medical disabilities. I am so thankful our health is one thing we currently don't have to worry about.
And so the sunsets on my November posts....

COLOUR

I seriously live in the Amazing Technicolor Dream House

The photos don't do the colors justice. Guess you will just have to visit.

My family room, living room and powder room are "Adobe Straw"

My office is pink

My bedroom is blue - I can't remember the name
Not to mention our yellow exterior with a blue door!

Thanksgiving #29

I am so thankful for digital cameras. When I went to Italy in 1996 I took 13 rolls of film with me and was teased about it. I ended up buying more film outside the Vatican on the last day of my trip because I needed some for inside the Vatican Museum. When we returned, everyone wanted my photos, because I took so many. It was SO expensive to have it all developed. I don't even have any in digital format today. It took me several years after returning home from England in 2000 to get all of my film developed and fortunately by then it was easy to ahve them put onto cd's. I am so thankful now all I have to do is plug in my camera and I am good to go. I had to get an external hard drive for my photos (and music but I have more photos than music on there). I take photos every chance I can. I keep my camera in my purse because I never know when I will need it. Rick really wants to buy an SLR for me to advance my photography but considering I have a simple point and click I am so pleased with the photos I am able to take.
I am SO thankful to have the incredible technology we have for photos.

Thanksgiving #28

I am so thankful for my ancestors and all they did for me. I am thankful that I am not a pioneer. I am thankful I live in a day and age with the fabric we have for hats, coats and gloves.

I am so thankful that there were people willing to suffer for me to have the incredible life that I have and have so I didn't have to be the one forging the way across the plains. Below is my Great Great Grandfather who's parents were in the Willie Handcart company. He was born after they arrived in Utah but he used to have to stand in cow poop just to try and warm his feet. Thank you Grandpa for dealing with the crap in the cold so I don't have to, to stay warm.

Thanksgiving #27

I probably won't have a chance to post tomorrow so I am doing it now. For my 27th Thankful post I am Thankful for Mr Flypaper and the day of his birth.

I am so thankful him and all the joy he brings to my life. Rick does so many things for me and is willing to put up with my craziness. He makes me laugh ALL the time. He has helped me become the person I am. I am so thankful for the love he brings to my life.

Thanksgiving #26

I am so thankful for my ability to read and that books are so available. It would have been so difficult to live in a time without the printing press. I am thankful for libraries. When we moved I checked out the local library. I think I have as many books in my house. Ok not really but still only one library will not suffice for my need to read so I still go to the libraries in Salt Lake. I LOVE that I can "order" my books online and they will be waiting for me at the library to pick up.
A few days ago I was finishing a book and Rick asked, what is that book number 8 in the last 2 weeks? Well he was probably pretty close. I have been reading so much now that it is too cold to go walking at night. I read while riding my stationary bike, I read in the bathtub, I read while going to the bathroom (yeah I know TMI) I read while playing my games - while I wait for them to load, and I read while watching tv.
I am SO thankful for the Harry Potter series. I am thankful for Twilight. I am thankful for all of the history books out there that have taught me much more than I ever learned while spending hundreds of dollars in college. I am thankful for all the LDS authors, especially those who write romantic/suspense books. I went a long time with reading very little fiction but found these books to be a joy in my life. I read them in about 3-4 days per book. They are fun to read because I don't worry about having to read inappropriate language or activities - I know I know I am a total prude.
I think that Goodreads is an awesome website. I have found so many books to read because of it that I would never have checked out before. I like seeing what my friends are reading too.
I am just so Thankful for those who worked on creating a world where being taught to read is a normal everyday thing and for those who helped create books.

Thanksgiving #25

I really meant to blog yesterday but just didn't get around to it cause I was too busy celebrating Thanksgiving! Yesterday, and every day, I am so thankful for my family. We were able to have family members to our house yesterday for a glorious meal. I am so thankful they were all able to come.
I am thankful for Rick's family as well. They have always treated me as if I were born into the family. They are so much fun to be around.
I am so thankful we live close to so many family members and love those who don't live near us. We wish we were able to see them more but thankfully we have Facebook, YouTube and the InterWebs

Thanksgiving #24

I am thankful for YouTube If it weren't for YouTube you wouldn't have the awesome videos in my music post. I am able to share all sorts of videos with family because of YouTube that normally they wouldn't easily be able to see because they are too big to email.

I am also able to see videos of my niece living out of state.

I was thinking the other day that MTV isn't what is used to be and groups don't need to make music videos any more. Then I thought, no wait, they do - they make them for YouTube now.
I was able to find the name of one of my all time favorite Christmas movies because of YouTube, and in turn I was able to find the DVD and add it to my collection - A Muppet Family Christmas

YouTube is pretty dang cool in my book.

Thanksgiving #23

I am thankful for my hair. Yeah I know that sounds lame but I have truly been blessed with incredible hair and I know it. I have a hard time growing finger nails and it is nearly impossible for me to lose weight but man I can sure grow the hair. I love it when it is short, and I love it when it is long. It is just that middle length that drives me crazy. I know that next time I cut it I can easily grow it back out. I have gone up and down several times. I am just so thankful I have been blessed with what I have.

Thanksgiving #22

I may end up copying Maddy on some of my next posts because I am so far behind and she is caught up. I have to agree with her though and say I am thankful for Facebook! Without Facebook I would have many hours to spend doing other things. The thing is, I don't know what I did before Facebook any more. I love playing my stupid games like Frontierville. I love seeing what people are doing in their lives and I have to say, my friends do not spend near enough time on Facebook. I am grateful that Maddy spends every possible second on there though. I have some grand conversations with Maddy on there.
I love that people are stupid and post personal things on there so I can make fun of them. I love that people are able to get the word out and for those who need prayers said on their behalf are able to share as well.
I think Facebook is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, time killer/time waster inventions!

Thanksgiving #21

I am so thankful to have a furnace. I am so glad I was born during this day and age where we have such incredible machines that can create heat. Sure I am cold at times...especially since we have our furnace set to 60 at night (yes it gets that cold but man I sure sleep well). But I am able to set it at 70 when I am home alone at night so I can feel the toastyness keeping me warm. I love whomever invented the furnace.

Thanksgiving #20

I am thankful for sporting events. I know that sounds a bit lame when you aren't into sports like we are, but we have had so many fun experiences because of them. Most people don't know, but I started college with every intention of becoming a sport broadcaster. After spending some time working in baseball I realized it wasn't for me. It hasn't changed how much I love watching sports. We have traveled to Phoenix and Vegas for NASCAR, and Seattle for baseball. Ok baseball wasn't the only reason be went to Seattle but we saw a game while we were there. We have had several seasons of Utah Utes season tickets and this past weekend we even braved enemy territory and went to a BYU game.
Our favorite is soccer! We went to matches while ReAl Salt Lake was still playing at the U and were there when they raised the Championship flag at Rio Tinto.
We spend lots of time watching sports on tv as well but attending in person is much funner. In the future we plan to visit Green Bay and Lambough field and Talledega at some point in time.
I love that we have the ability to attend and share together so many sporting events.

Thanksgiving #19

I know I just mentioned friends but one friend I need to give an entire post to...Wayne-O. Wayne has been a friend of mine for 9 years now I think. Over this time he has been my friend getting me through the good and bad. We have been lucky enough for our families to get to know each other as well. We have traveled as families together and that's what we have become, a big family.
Wayne actually is who helped me get into genealogy. He asked me to help him out with some of his family tree and it turned into my obsession. I know his family tree as well as my own because of this. His family has allowed us to do the Temple work for their ancestors, another part of why we have such a wonderful friendship.
Yep, I am thankful for Wayne-O

Thankful #18

I am thankful for my friends and friends of friends. I have new friends now that we have moved. I have medium timed friends from the last few years of my life. And I have old friends, you know who you are. I am so grateful to have friends and the fun times we have chatting. Thank you!

Busy Times

I can't believe how busy I have been the last few days. It has been none stop from the time I get out of bed until I hit the pillow. Don't be alarmed though, I will get my Thankfuls updated tomorrow.
Apparently no one likes the music I listen too. :)
